I was first introduced to Dawn by a friend of mine who said I looked alot like her. Yes, my hair was red before I knew who Dawn was. ;) This was one of the first images I ever saw of Dawn and I wanted to recreate it in black. I bought a few scarfs with skulls on them, cut each out individually and glued them to a black vinyl corset. I added a 'half-skirt' (this outfit is a little revealing to wear in public), thigh high and boots as well as some vinyl 'gauntlets' and viola! I wore this outfit when I first met Joe Linsner when he was doing a signing in MA in 1998. He seemed to like it. Its no longer in my collection; the corset became to big for me so I removed the skulls and gave it to my friend. I started to remake this costume in the correct colors for the Dawn contest in 2002 but I was so burnt out on costume making that I opted to put it off for now. Hopefully someday I will finish the rework. |
