When I first made this costume in the winter of 1995, I was pretty much making it just by what I could see on the video. So it wasn't totally screen accurate but it looked good enough for the stage. Since then, with the help of the internet and the research of Columbias around the world my costume has become alot more screen accurate. This current costume I am especially proud of; I even made the hat myself! This costume features the gold sequin tailcoat with black sequin lapels lined in black, black satin shorts striped in the correct pattern, pink bow, rhinestoned collar and the pointed corset lined in white with black boning in the *correct* sequin colors! I bought two yards of the fabric a NY Columbia had made years ago for $50 a yard. |
