Do you make costumes for other people?
Yes!
Can I buy just part of a costume?
If it can be made / sold separately from the main costume; sure!
Just ask!
Can I borrow / rent one of your costumes?
I'm sorry but No. These are in my own personal collection and
are not available for rental. I would be happy to recreate my
costumes for your personal use.
Can you make me a costume I see on here?
Of course! If I have already made it I can make it exacly the
same as you see in the photos or make any detail changes that you
might prefer to have made.
Can you make a costume that is not on here?
Sure thing! I'm pretty good at figuring out how to recreate any
sewn costume I see but I'm sure there are a few out there that I
wouldn't be able to do. I don't work with heavy leather, metal
or that sort of thing; fabric only. If I can't make a costume
for you I will definitely try to forward you to someone who can.
How long will it take to get my costume?
Turn-around time is currently at least 16 weeks depending on many
things such as fabric / materials availability & complexity of
the costume. I sometimes can do rush orders for an extra fee if
you need the costume ASAP. I book over a year out but often
have openings so please email me to discuss.
Why aren't there any prices on some of these costumes?
If there is not a price on a costume that means it is not for sale
and available by commission only. Each costume for each person
is different. Many factors determine how much a custom costume
will cost; such as your choice in fabrics & degree
of detailing. When emailing me please provide information
and pictures or descriptions of the costume you are interested in as
well as your general dress/pants size and your budget.
Your budget is the most important part of your email; if we
know beforehand what you want to spend then I can let you know what I
can do for that price rather than going back and forth. Please
note that quotes are subject to change. Please also note that most
custom costumes *start* at $250 which covers a custom designed
patterning fee and labor on said pattern. Materials and labor
costs for the actual costumes are then added from there.
Why are the Prices so high?
I try and keep my prices as low as I can; trust me I know what the
economy is like right now and not may people can afford spending a
few hundred dollars on costumes. But take my floorshow boas for
example; they seem pretty simple, right? The materials alone
cost me about $100 to purchase before I put in 6 hours of work to
make a movie accurate boa. Alot of care and consideration (not
to mention work) goes into each of my creations.
What sort of measurements do you need from me?
After we discuss the costume you wish to commission and we agree upon
a price I will then request you to make your payment. Once I
receive payment I will then send you a list of measurements I need
from you to create your specific costume. Please be as accurate
as you can with these, ideally get someone to take them for you.
Please do not estimate what your measurements will be or what you
would like them to be when it is time for me to deliver your
item. I will create the costume using those measurements given
and if it does not fit I will not be at fault.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept US money orders as well as credit cards thru PayPal. I
do not accept personal checks or international money orders.
Payment plans may be worked out but payment must be made in full
before work can start on any costume. Payments are non-refundable.
Should you in any way not meet my requests for information in a
timely manner your delivery date will be pushed back as required by
my current work load. You will still receive your costume but
not at the date first quoted unless special arrangements are made or
rush fees paid. I will hold incomplete orders for up to one
year as valid. After one year, I will consider your order
"void" and you will forfeit all payments you have made and
your order will be cancelled. No exceptions.
Once I have your full payment and you have given me all the requested
information I have asked for I will then confirm your delivery
date. When you first contact me I can give you an approximate
delivery date that is valid only once I get all your measurements;
only THEN can I confirm delivery and I will consider your order 'Confirmed'.
Once your order is completed I will contact you with various options
for shipping; the customer is responsible for the shipping fee.
This fee cannot be predetermined as the weight of the finished
commission is needed to give an accurate shipping cost. Once
payment is received for shipping your item will be mailed by your
choice of shipping options. I am not responsible for any delay
in your receipt of your items due to your choice of shipping speed
and I am also not responsible for delay in shipping due to delay in
payment for shipping.
