Maximus

Ever since I was little and I knew what horses were I've always dreamed of owning a big, black horse.  After I saw my first friesian I knew that was the big, black horse I have been dreaming of.  Unfortunately it seems many, many other people ream of them too as their prices are really quite high.  One of the first things that caught my eye about my first horse, El Morro was he had friesian qualities.  When I finally decided I had to sell him as we weren't going to work together I decided that my next horse would only be a friesian.

After looking on-line for quite a while (I was actually looking on-line for months before I could finally admit I needed to sell Morro) and realizing that the horses I wanted I just couldn't afford I about gave up.  Then one day I received an email from a lady named Jenny. She said she had the horse for me and as it turns out... she did!  She sent pictures of her boy and after weeks of discussing we both decided that he would soon be coming home to me!

Maximus is a 1997 FHANA registered Friesian gelding.  His sire is Pyt 325, and his dam is Popke, a daughter of Oepke 266.  Max stands 16.3 hands and weighs in at about 1500 pounds.  He received a 2nd premier as a foal, but has not yet gone to a keuring as an adult.  Max was bred by Black Dragon Farms.

Maximus has experience which includes Dressage Shows, Open Shows under saddle and in halter, and performing in an 8 Friesian Quadrille!  Although he had several years "off of work" his show record is still impressive.  He has shown very successfully at Training Level dressage against all breeds, with scores always above 60%.  He was recently brought back into work and is schooling Training & First Level.

Max should be arriving on May 20th, 2005.  Stay tuned for MANY more photos!

The first three pictures on the left are from previous years photos of Max.  the photos below were taken on 5/7/05; Max is a little fuzzy with his winter coat, a little muddy from all the rains and a little chubby form a winter of no work!  ;)  But he is still handsome I think!
