The Oubliette

My mission to create the Sara Ballgown and the progress pics that go with it.

This page ill not be made public till after the event so please keep it to yourself.  ;)

The Fabric

Organza-ish fabric that will be used for the inner layer of the sleeve poufs and the middle layer on the sleeves and bodice.  Isn't it gorgeous?!?

It will give the sheer fabric the support for the poufs and also lend to the correct coloring.  If you look at it in normal light its just white!  Things aren't always what they seem.  >:)

This is my glorious 'over layer' fabric.  SO hard to get a good pic of it; if I used a flash it washed out.  It's laying on white satin so I could get a pic but as you can see it didn't work so great.  You can just barely see the shimmer but look at it in person and its all over!

Here is the three layers of the skirt, soap bubbl, sparkle organza and white satin.  Again, really hard to photograph, you can't even see the sparkle organza!  But in real life its sparkly, I swear!  ;)

Embossing

L: Grey R: White

Lain on top of the organza-ish fabric on my burgundy velvet coverlette.

Grey is for the bodice accents, white will be all-over the sleeves and bodice.

I tried to get a pic of the grey by laying it on the white but it wouldn't really work.

Need to darken it up a bit.  Will be adding silver pearl and silver glitter embossing powder over the silver ink instead of the white and opalecent as I did here.

Hair Ornaments

Gathering materials!  I love the way the flash hazed in this picture, I hope the ornaments do that when they are in my hair.  ;)
